About this proceedings

The International Conference on Engineering Innovation for Sustainable Development (ICESID 2026), organised by the Faculty of Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, was held from 8th to 10th September, 2026, under the theme “Innovating Tomorrow: Harnessing Engineering to Drive Nigeria’s Growth for Sustainable Development.” The conference brought together researchers, academics, engineers, industry professionals, policymakers, and students to exchange knowledge, present research findings, and deliberate on the role of engineering innovation in addressing Nigeria’s developmental challenges. A total of 205 abstracts were accepted, while 167 research presentations were made during the conference. The presentations covered a broad range of engineering disciplines and emerging areas of technology, reflecting the depth of research and innovation taking place within the engineering community. The conference provided a platform for participants to share research findings, exchange professional knowledge, showcase emerging technologies, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
